About TipsPay UK

TipsPay UK is an independent publisher of calculators and plain-English guides about pay in UK hospitality: the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage, take-home pay, tips law, tronc schemes, service charges and holiday pay.

Why we exist

Hospitality pay is more layers than most industries: age-banded minimum wages that change every April, tips that are now 100% yours by law, tronc schemes with their own tax rules, service charges on every bill and holiday accrual maths for zero-hours rotas. Most of this information is public — on GOV.UK, in HMRC guidance and in the statutory Code of Practice — but scattered. We put the numbers in one place, verify them against official sources, and make them calculable.

What we publish

Free browser-based calculators (minimum wage by age, take-home pay) and guides (the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, tronc and NICs, service charges, holiday pay). Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

Editorial standards

Rates and rules are checked against official sources — GOV.UK, HMRC guidance E24, the Low Pay Commission and ACAS — and every page carries its update date.
